BrightHouse makes appointment to drive business change
BrightHouse has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Simon Mouncer as head of business change and IT.
He will report directly to BrightHouse finance director Giles David and will be responsible for nurturing the high degree of business change that the retailer is undergoing.

BrightHouse wins national recycling award
BrightHouse was recently won the Hadfield Wood Recyclers Award for the Best High Street Recycler at this year’s National Recycling Awards. The award recognises BrightHouse’s dedication to environmental sustainability through their end of life packaging recycling project. The project recycles goods that are beyond economic repair, as well as packaging materials returned to the store and has resulted in a massive 95% recycling rate and a saving of £300,000 per year.

BrightHouse takes some US retail advice
BrightHouse travelled across the Atlantic to meet with US rent-to-own retail chain stores in order to gain a better understanding of US business operations. Leo McKee, BrightHouse CEO, said that they came to learn from the best, which in this case include Easyhome, Rent-A-Center and APRO (Association of Progressive Rental Organisations).

BrightHouse rolls out business solution software
BrightHouse chose Hornbill’s Supportworks ITSM enterprise service management solution to operate its IT support desks at all of its stores across the UK. The system was chosen for its easy usability and integration with existing infrastructure, and will soon be applied across BrightHouse’s other service functions, including HR and finance.

2007/2008 was a good year for

BrightHouse: Retailer bucks trend in drive for growth
BrigthHouse has opened 20 new stores in the past 6 months and has already reported massive expansion plans for Birmingham and Manchester. The rent-to-own retail chain has now revealed plans to double its network in Yorkshire with an additional 19 stores over the next 3-5 years, creating 170 new jobs within local communities.
